1. Following the meeting on 1 December to discuss the idea of a direct London-Korea service (a copy of the record is attached for Mr Thompson) and prior to the next one in February, we think the FCO should at a high level add its weight to those who already support the idea. We are aware that negotiating such a service would have implications for Cathay Pacific Airways' operations to Korea, but think it should be possible, as in other cases where both BA's and CPA's interests are involved, to find a compromise.

2. I would welcome your comments on the attached draft submission.
