On 30 January the next round of the Scandinavian talks begins in London. The talks will primarily cover the UK carriers' outstanding route applications.

2. On or about 4 February Mr Rogers may visit Bahrain to discuss UK/Gulf Air services with the Embassy. He will be on his way to India (where he will follow up the PH/Desai exchanges on Concorde overflight) and Australia.

3. On 9 February in Vientiane, representatives from Thailand, Vietnam and Hong Kong, in addition to BCARFE and the Laotion hosts meet to discuss the re-opening of Amber 1, the direct Airway between Bangkok and Hong Kong.

4. On 16 February a DOT delegation led by Mr Rogers starts talks expected to last for 10 or 11 days, in New Zealand, to discuss various problems. A new ASA is not envisaged at this stage, but a marker may well be put down by the New Zealand delegation for further talks.

5.

On 27 February Mr Rogers starts talks in Canberra on various air service matters. No new ASA is envisaged.

6.

Also on 27 February the next round of Kenya talks starts in London, with hopefully, the signing of the new Air Services Agreement.
