WE LEARNED LAST WEEK THAT TRANSMARK WHO WERE APPOINTED

CONSULTANTS FOR THE PROJECT BY THE HONG KONG GOVERNMENT WERE

ABOUT TO RECOMMEND THREE OFFERS AS TECHNICALLY COMPLIANT WITH THE TENDER SPECIFICATION. METCAM'S WAS THE HIGHEST IN PRICE.

I SO WARNED SANSOME WHO ON ATTEMPTING TO DISCUSS HIS OFFER WITH TRANSMARK WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS NOT NECESSARY OR POSSIBLE AS THE METCAM BID WAS IN EXACT ACCORDANCE WITH THE TENDER SPECIFICATION

(NOT SURPRISINGLY BECAUSE TRANSMARK DREW UP THE SPECIFICATION AROUND THE METCAM PRODUCT) AND TRANSMARK HAD NO ROLE TO PLAY IN

PRICE CONSIDERATIONS. THESE WOULD BE HANDLED BY HONG KONG GOVERNMENT TENDER BOARD WHERE REGULATIONS PERMIT NO CONTACT

WITH SUPPLIERS.
