7 For the record our sterling commitment for phase 1 is £120m repayable over 12 years starting in 1980. The commitment for the option is £21m equivalent in HK dollars repayable over 8 years from 1980 and for phase 2, assuming British tenderers are successful, a maximum of £100m repayable over 8 years from 1932.

8 All these commitments will be guaranteed by the Hong Kong Government and we have no doubts about the viability of the project and the Government's ability to support the Mass Transit in meeting this commitment.
