It was noted in Interim Report 8 that there was a need for at least a 50% increase in central terminal capacity for buses.

A site has been allocated in the current Town Plan for a new

bus terminal at the site of Central Market. This would appear

to be an appropriate development, since it can be connected

directly to the bus priority route just outlined.

The development of express bus services along the Waterfront Roads was seen to require specific treatment of access/egress arrangements in Central. In particular, the connections between the existing Central Bus Terminal and the Connaught

Road improvements would need to be examined with regard to

the requirements of a reliable bus operation and bus priority

links introduced where necessary.
