ANNEX E
Dear Sir,
-
It is with the strongest possible conviction that I would register a protest with you regarding the Government's decision to let a profitable private company albeit an essential service industry the Hong Kong Electric Company set up a power plant on Lamma Island at Po Lo Tsui. As the article in the South China Morning Post mentioned:- There are other sites available.
Lamma is one of the very few remaining unspoilt areas of Hong Kong. Any major enterprise of this type will despoil the island no matter what the government environmental experts declare.
The government would be serving the people of Hong Kong in a far more constructive way if it declared the whole of Lamma as a public park and let the power plant be built in parts of Hong Kong island or in the New Territories where environmental destruction has been so complete as to be almost irreversible.
Leave Lamma Island alone please for future generations of Chinese people to enjoy. else.
Let HK Electric make their profits somewhere
Yours faithfully,
Susanks
