I would like to make further reference to the EHV transmission line system for, if the present negotiations with the United Kingdom are to be brought to a successful conclusion it is imperative that the terms offered are similar to those given to the main power station contract.
These terms must cover impartial assessment, rate of interest, method and periods of payment and no guarantees provided from the China Light and Power Company other than through the Hong Kong Government Scheme of Control.
It will be appreciated that the electrical transmission system is an integral part of the whole project since without it the power cannot be distributed.
As in the case of the power station contract, E.C.G.D. runs no risk since payments will be guaranteed through the abovementioned Scheme of Control.
