IN COUNCIL
Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
1. This Order may be cited as the Hong Kong (Coinage) (Amendment) Order 1978 and shall come into operation on the day on which it is proclaimed in Hong Kong by the Governor.
2.-(1) In this Order, "the principal Order" means the Hong Kong (Coinage) Order 1936.
(2) The Interpretation and General Clauses Ordinance, as amended by any subsequent Ordinance, shall apply to the interpretation of this Order as it applies to the interpretation of any Ordinance in force in Hong Kong.
(3), The principal Order, the Hong Kong (Coinage) (Amendment) Order 1975 and this Order may be cited together as the Hong Kong (Coinage) Orders 1936 to 1978.
3. Article of the principal Order shall be amended by the deletion of the words "all or any of the coins referred to in the Schedule to this Order" and the substitution of the words “any coin/which is legal tender in the Colony".
