The Commission representative stated a clear preference for maintaining strictly regional limits at this stage, as a formal application for a Community limit would be likely to lead to the opening of real negotiations even before the bilateral agreement
had been finally concluded.
4. Jaports originating in Taiwan
The Committee was unable to complete its discussions on this item, which had been raised
by the French delegation (1).
(1) The Committee agreed to return to this item and to the
remaining "Other Business" items raised by the Belgian, French and Netherlands delegations, which could not be discussed at the Committee's meeting on 14 June 1978 owing to lack of time.
