Local garment manufacturers said EEC orders for HK-tade shirts
are again active, pushing up quota premiums to as high as $40 per dozen. One
reason is the economic recovery in our export markets and the reduced quota
quantities in textile agreements; another reason is that HK now regains some
of the orders previously lost to Taiwan and S. Korea where workers' wages
