TENDER FOR LEASE OF EXPLOSIVES PLANT SITE

Information to be Supplied with Tenders
a
Suitability and Acceptability of Product
1 The range of products to be manufactured both for Hong Kong use
and for export will be explosives of the type approved under
Class 2, nitrate mixtures, in the List of Authorised Explosives
issued in the UK by the Health and Safety Executive.
In the initial stages the formulations manufactured will be
essentially similar to Iremite, Iregex and Iregel slurry explosive
type formulations based on gelled inorganic nitrates sensitised by
aluminium and other fuels.
To meet the varying needs of the Hong Kong market, it is considered
essential to have the ability to vary formulations within the
general UK definition of Class 2, nitrate mixtures.
This will
also allow for developments in the technology of slurry explosives
and those of similar type.
The rated capacity of the plant will be 2,500 tonnes per annum
per shift.
It is expected that approximately equal quantities
of large (21" dia and over) and small diameters will be required.
