ACCOMMODATION.

PART E ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation is to be provided for up to 6 Officers

in 2 single and 2 double cabins, Senior ratings and 237 Junior ratings in

bunk spaces. (These numbers allow provision for Training and Board Margin and

occasional facilities for 2 Hong Kong Police personnel - Part A, para 12 and

Annex C refer).

The numbers will be adjusted following final decisions on craft manning

DOMESTIC ARRANGEMENTS.

Habitability is to be comparable with the latest

agreed standards for RN ship accommodation, consistent with the size and area

of operations of the vessels. The following facilities are required:

a.

Combined messing/recreation areas to be provided

separately for Officers, Senior Rates and Junior Rates with normal facilities.

Three separate messes are desirable for Junior Rates.

NOTE SR/JR messes will be 'mixed-manned' - UK/LEP

b. A single electric galley affording limited self-

service feeding arrangements for all ratings and with separate scullery area (incorporating Garbage Disposal

Unit). A separate pantry should be provided for Officers

adjacent to the WR area.

The use of infra-red grill(s) plus hot plates and microwave/convector

ovens should be investigated in view of high ambient temperatures.

C. Beer, spirit and limited canteen stores stowage (air

conditioned).

Library facilities to scale.

A Central Administrative Office (Part J, paragraph 3a

refers).
