A short range civil maritime installation in HMS TAMAR

for liaison with MARDEP and control of berthing in the naval

area.

(3) A short range civil maritime installation in HMS TAMAR for

communications with visiting ships.

Furthermore, to meet the long range requirement provision would need to

be made to hire appropriate HF transmitters and receivers to be controlbed

by an installation in HMS TAMAR.

Study Report Conclusions.

HMS MERCURY concluded in their Communications

Study Report that each new craft would require the rollowing equipment:

(1) One HF transmitter with a power output of the order of

500W.

(2) Two MF/HF recivers

(3) Two Clansman range military VHF transceivers.

(4) One VHF transceiver operating in the IMM band

(Type 1202).

(5) One V/UHF transceiver operating in the bands

100-156 MHz and 225-500 MHz.

(6) One UHF transceiver operating in the band

225-400 MHz.

(7) A one line RATT capability similar to that

fitted in the TON Class MCMV.

(8) One wide band secure speech equipment capable

of operating on both the military VHF equipments

(sub-para c above) and the naval V/UHF equipments

(sub-paras e and f above).
