1.
I understand from the MOD that, as a result of the visit earlier this year by the Technical Officer, Ranges, the Force are anxious for an Army expert to carry out a detailed survey of all their ranges.
2. The MOD are taking preliminary soundings as to the possibility of such a survey but, in the meantime, have asked for more information. In particular they would like a detailed statement of the Force's requirements and the description of the ranges concerned.
3. I should point out that, since range specialists are rare animals, it might be some time before the study can be undertaken.
