Report by the Defence Policy Staff

1.

The Chiefs of Staff agreed (1) that in view of recent requests for reinforcement and interest in the UK capability to evacuate British citizens from countries overseas, the UK censbility to fulfil Priority Two Commitments should be reviewed by the Defence Policy Staff. Our report which has been preparod in conjunction with the Central Military Staffs, Defence Secretariat and Single Service Departments and in consultation with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office 7 is at Annex A.

2. We recommend that the Chiefs of Staff take note of our report

and approve its conclusions 7.
