PRIORITIES FOR AIRLIFT (COS 4/76)

1. The current priorities for airlift by the Air Transport

Force are as follows:

Ea

Priority One

Operations. Includes air support for

nuclear capable forces, operations in support of NATO,

national contingency operations, operations in support

of other international commitments and national operations

of an internal security nature.

b.

Priority Two - ATF Aircrew Training.

Includes an

appropriate portion of scheduled services to enable the

minimum necessary route training to be achieved.

C. Priority Three Priority A Operational Training and

Exercise Requirements, the Maintenance of Operational Status

of Naval Task Forces and RAF Aircraft, and the Relief of

Army and Royal Marine Units on Short Operational Tours.

"Priority A" Training and Exercise Requirements include:

(1) RN. NATO Maritime Exercises.

National tactical

training to enable units to carry out their war role.
