Procedures for landing: Fly over the radio range station along a 10 degree course, then make a 180 degree right turn and head toward the radio range station. Maintain a mag- netic course of 208 degrees, penetrate the clouds, and land. Your altitude when you are directly over the radio range station should not be lower than 1,000 feet, and you will land safely.

B. If you cross over with your aircraft while flying at a high altitude during day- time, when you see our aircraft, please bank your wings, fire signal flares if you have them, reduce your creed, lower your landing gear and you will be guided by our aircraft to a safe landing.

C. If you cross over with your airesaft while flying at a low altitude during day- time, when you approach the mainland, please bank your wings, fire signal flares if you have any, reduce your speed, lower your landing gear and you will be guaranteed a safe landing.

D. If you cross over with your aircraft at night, please turn on your navigational lights, blink them continuously, turn on your landing lights, fire signal flares if you have any and you will be guaranteed a safe landing.

[Text of notice to naval personnel of Chiang forces issued by the Political Depart- -ment of the PLA Fukien Front Headquarters]

[Text] Naval personnel of the Chiang forces who revolt and cross over to the main- land of the motherland with their vessels are performing a patriotic and righteous act. They will be warmly welcomed by the people of the motherland. The people's government will assign work to all officers and men who cross over according to their abilities, make proper arrangements for them to settle, protect their personal prop- erties, and give them generous cash awards according to the types of vessels they bring over.

The following are rules governing awards to naval personnel of the Chiang forces who cross over in revolt with their vessels and the methods of making contact:

1. Rules governing awards:

Personnel who cross over in revolt with destroyers will be awarded 20,000 taels of gold for each vessel. Personnel who cross over in revolt with destroyer escorts will be awarded 15,000 trels of sold for each vessel. Personnel who cross over in revolt with large subnazine chasers, nati

muhouts, minolayers, minesweepers or submarines

will be awarded 10.000 taels of ad in each vessel. Personnel who mess over in revolt with fock landing ships, tank landing ships, or repair ships will be awarded 3,000 to 4,000 taels of gold for each vessel, Besonnel who cross over in revolt with medium-sized landing ships or small-sized submarine chaters will be awarded 2,000 tacls of gold for each vessel.
