I am of course perfectly ready to leave it to you to make hotel arrangements. My only preference,

My only preference, which I recognise may have to go by the board in view of the demand for rooms in early May,, is for an hotel of about the same standard as the Hong Kong (Excelsior or Lee Gardens).

I have also received your telegram No 388. I have been assured by our Personnel Department that there is no sinister significance in the omission of my details from the 1977 Diplomatic List; it was worrying all the same! I enclose brief biographical notes.
