The Hongkong & Yaumati Ferry Co., Ltd. announces that

the Official Opening of the Hong Kong-Kwangchow Hoverferry Service

will take place on Friday, the 17th November, 1978.

Hoverferries will leave both Hong Kong and Kwangchow daily

at 7.30 a.m., 11.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. Journey time will be

approximately 2 hrs. and 40 mins. Fares per single trip will be

HK$65.00/Renminbi (¥) 23.50. Free luggage allowance per passenger

is 20 kilograms.

The China Travel Service Ltd. will be handling the sales

of tickets. Travellers (Hong Kong and Macao Chinese, Overseas Chinese

and Foreign Passport Holder of Chinese Origin) will be required to

pay a service charge to China Travel Service Ltd. for their services

which include applications, luggage handling, special transport between

Whampoa and Huachiao Mansion at Haichu Square, Canton. Advance tickets

will be available as from 10th November 1978. Detail information can

be obtained from China Travel Service Ltd.

Official Opening Ceremonies will take place at Hong Kong

and Kwangchow simultaneously at 9.15 a.m. on the 17th November, 1978,

and will be followed by Inaugural sailings for invited guests.

Normal hoverferry service will be opened to the public as

from the 18th November 1978,
