For the record, I should let you know that I shall be going on a duty visit to Peking, leaving here on 19 October. Sue will be going with me (at my expense). We hope to spend about five days in Peking and seven days elsewhere: I have put in a bid to visit a nature reserve but will only discover if this is possible after getting to Peking.

The NCNA know that we are going so there is some possibility that we may see officials in Canton when we spend a day or two there on our way back.
