Rehabilitated, he came to notice in early 1978 as Director of the State Publishing Bureau. In Canton in June he was elected a Vice-Chairman of the Chinan University and then in July he was appointed Director of the Hong Kong branch of the N.C.N.A. He travels on Chinese diplomatic passport ·

1961

Delegate to 1st Kwangtung People's Congress; Vice-President, Canton branch, All-China Journalists Association.

1964-66

Director, Broadcasting Administrative Bureau, Kwangtung Provincial Party Committee; member, Chinese broadcasting delegation led by MEI Yi to visit Japan; Director, Kwang- tung People's Radio Station; concurrently Head of its Cul- tural Revolution Group.

Oct. 1966

Fell victim to the Cultural Revolution when she was cri- ticised "for failing to advance the Cultural Revolution through the medium of the radio, for taking the course of ›passive resistance and for failing to denounce the three

family village".

1978

Presuming that she survived her years in the political wilderness, it may be presumed that she has also been re- habilitated but there is no sign that she may accompany her husband to Hong Kong.
