c) Macau has agreed to provide temporary accommodation for up to 800 refugees from Hong Kong who are in the final stages for processing for admittance to the U.S.

d) Negotiations initiated to rent Jubilee Buildings as a UNHCR/IRC run refugee camp.

Good progress has been made. The tower block was "topped off" in September.

Pressure is being maintained to meet the target date.

c) To try to arrange for an increased rate of resettlement

overseas.

To provide UNHCR with a temporary site in Shamshuipo in which UNHCR will provide and manage a centre.

To maintain progress and to hold further meetings. Inspection visits will be made in November with a view to deciding whether the phased move of HQBF from Victoria Barracks can be completed by 31st March 1979 as forecast.

To reach agreement on the replacement programme for the present R.N. patrol craft when their present economic life expires in about 1982.

Views on type of craft and method of procurement exchanged with MODUK
