Country Parks (ENV 30/15/01)

(a) To define the location and

boundaries of country parks and special areas.

(b) To administer and control country parks and special

areas.

(a) Further Country Parks at Lantau

North and Pat Sin Leng are to be designated in August. The intention to designate areas at Tai Lam, Tai Mo Shan and Lam Tsuen will be gazetted in August. Work is in hand on the map of Ma On Shan Special Arca.

(b) (i) AFD has prepared a 4-year

programme for the implementation of country parks staffing. (ii) The provision of additional

posts and the recruitment and training of country parks staff is in progress.

(a) Designate Tai Lam,

Tai Mo Shan and Lam Tsuen Country Parks by November.

(b) Monitor implementa-

tion of the AFD country parks staffing programme, liaising with Finance and Civil

Service Branches to ensure provision of the necessary funds and staffing

resources.
