Mr Adams, Personnel Operations Department
SECONDMENT OF HONG KONG GOVERNMENT OFFICER TO HONG KONG AND GENERAL DEPARTMENT
1. I attach a copy of a telegram received this morning from the Hong Kong Secretary of the Civil Service, together with a copy of the reply which I have sent. I am sorry about the delay but I do not think I can push any harder.
2. It is now a bit unrealistic to expect Mr Williamson in the Office (assuming Hong Kong release him) immediately after the Christmas and New Year holiday: hence my question to Mr Rowlands. Provided the gap is not too long I should be prepared to share it with Mr Thompson's next post.
