to ease up on editing. You should ensure that chronologies are pruned of everything that will not be of interest to a researcher a year or two later.

(d) Timing

I should have liked to get away from the bunching of all the Reviews in one month, which among other things complicates their printing and distribution, and we have considered various ways of phasing them over the year. But the general opinion here, which I share, is that each Review should continue to cover the calendar year up to 31 December. December and January are, however, the two busiest months for the printing press. In future, therefore, you need not rush to get your Review off at the beginning of January but should regard

31 January as the date by which it should be received in the Office.

A revision of DSP will be issued in due course. You may wish to have this circular brought up in December.
