There is a similar slippage on amendments to the construction sites safety regulations, although other safety legislation has been enacted. Legislation for regulating employment of children in all sectors is currently being prepared, with the target being the end of 1979. This should just meet the Planning Paper's requirements.

Social Welfare

8. The Green Papers on Social Security Development, Services for the Elderly and Services for the Youth were published in November 1977. It is hoped to implement certain of these proposals in the first two quarters of 1978. Finally the Rehabilitation Development Coordinating Committee has decided to allow participation by disabled persons on 7 specialists sub-committtees, and to try to obtain support funds for rehabilitation services.
