1. I have arranged the next meeting of the Standing Committee for Friday morning, 15 December. Messrs Cortazzi, Murray, Hurst (OLA), and A Smith (Econ) are all in a position to attend. Of this department, only Mr Thompson will be unavailable but he has indicated to me that he does not think his presence at the meeting is essential especially as he will be leaving the department at the end of December.
