I have the honour to inform you that I have appointed Mr. D. R. Boy, JP, provisionally and subject to Her Majesty's pleasure, to be an Official Member of the Legislative Council with effect from 8th March 1978 in place of Mr. G. C. Thornton, QC who will be temporarily filling the post of Attorney General during the absence of Mr. J. W. D. Hobley, CMG, QC, JP. I have also appointed Mr. David WONG Tzi-ki, JP, to be provisionally an Official Member of the Legislative Council with effect from 7th March 1978 during the absence of Mr. D. G. Jeaffre son, JP.

Mr. Boy's previous appointment to the Legislative Council referred to in your despatch dated 21.12.77 expired on 2.2.78.

Mr. Wong's previous appointment to the Legislative Council referred to in your despatch HKK 011/1 dated 22.8.77 expired on 25.9.77.
