At yesterday's meeting with Lord Goronwy-Roberts the possibility was raised of appointing another trade unionist as

a member of Hong Kong's Legislative Council and I mentioned the impression made on me by an official in the Cable & Wireless Non-expatriate Staff Association, Mr Chan Kam-chuen.

2. I met Mr Chan at the ad hoc meeting of the Labour Advisory Board which I attended. He is articulate, youthful and enthusiastic. He is currently in the UK attending a training course organised by Cable & Wireless.
