The major reasons for being indifferent to having elected members were lack

of interest in politics and ignorance of the subject. A minority expressed

skepticism towards elected members as they saw no difference between an

elected member and a non-elected member.

Among those who are in favour of having elected members in the Legislative Council, most of them feel the composition of members should be split equally between elected and non-elected members.
