APPOINTMENT OF MR JUSTICE YANG AS COMMISSIONER AGAINST CORRUPTION IN HONG KONG
1. We spoke and I explained that the Governor would be most grateful if the opinion of, eg the Lord Chancellor on the propriety of Yang J being appointed as Commissioner, could be gained for use by the Governor with the Chief Justice in Hong Kong.
2. You kindly agreed to approach the Lord Chancellor's Office. I attach copies of the relevant papers.
