Pursuant to the provisions of Section 3(1) (a) of the Cayman Islands (Constitution) Order 1972, Her Majesty The Queen is pleased to designate the person who holds the office of Chief Secretary to assume and perform during Her Majesty's pleasure the functions of the office of Governor if at any time the office of Governor is vacant or the holder of the office is absent from the Cayman Islands or is for any other reason unable to perform the functions of the office of Governor. If in the aforementioned circumstances the Chief Secretary is or becomes for any reason unable to assume and perform the said functions of the office of Governor, then Her Majesty is pleased to designate the person who holds the office of Financial Secretary to assume and perform during Her pleasure the functions of office of Governor.
