Sea Isle,
DORMANT COMMISSION FOR PITCAIRN
(5) 1.
Thank you for your letter of 26 April about the dormant commission for Pitcairn. In the case of Pitcairn I can see no need for anything other than an unclassified document to cover the arrangements for the functioning of the office of Governor if I am unable to perform the duties of the office.
2. I would be grateful if you will arrange for an amended It is commission to be issued as an unclassified document. still in my view sensible that the officer in charge of our Auckland office should perform this task although with the appointment of Harraway as Commissioner he is no longer so much involved in Pitcairn affairs. But the new dormant commission should refer to the British Consul-General Auckland and not the Counsellor as the title of the post has been
Since changed since the last dormant commission was issued. the officer is identified by his designation and not by name the new dormant commission should remain valid even when staff change. I will write an appropriate letter to the Consul-General when I get the new Dormant Commission.
