Your letter was discussed at the last meeting of the International Committee and it was decided to ask you for clarification of the meaning of the last sentence in the second paragraph Government are prepared to review the policy on capital punishment in dependent territories if that is Parliament's wish "The committee wanted to know whether that meant that you would seek to find out Parliament's views on this matter or whether it meant that you would consider the matter if Parliament took the initiative.
