CAPITAL PUNISHMENT IN THE DEPENDENT OVERSEAS TERRITORIES

I draw to you attention that in a supplementary after The Business Statement yesterday, 26 January, Miss Joan Lestor called for what she described as the promised statement on the application of capital punishment in dependent territories, associated States and colonies. She also referred in this context to the specific case of a men under sentence of death in the Virgin Islands, In his reply, whom I assume to be Mr Silvester Gaston. Ir Foot gave no promises but said he would inquire into both the general subject and the specific case, which I understand in sub judice, and see what could be arranged.
