I enclose a photocopy of a clipping from an American philatelic magazine from which you will see that some of the Silver Jubilee stamp designs have been used by a Mr W T Mitchell, 1 Arcade Steps, Penzance, Cornwall, for "Zennor Rocket Mail" Labels.

Further investigation has revealed that each of the nine Labels used designs from our Principals. As you will see from the photo- copy of the Labels they are BAT, Falkland Islands, Gilbert Islands, Montserrat, Pitcairn Islands, St Helena, South Georgia and Tristan da Cunha.
3 We have established that the Labels are on sale to the collector through the trade and we know that one of our main customers is offering them for sale.
4 It would appear that there has been an infringement of copyright here and we are bringing this matter to your attention as all the Principals involved are Dependent Territories.
5 If Mitchell has not obtained your permission to use the designs you may consider that taking action to obtain compensation and an injunction to restrain Mitchell from continuing the infringement would be appropriate.
6 We feel that we should write to the American magazine and advise the editor that the Labels were produced without our knowledge or authority. However, before taking steps in this direction we should be grateful for your comments on the subject as a whole.
