CORONATION ANNIVERSARY CROWN ISSUES
Thank you so much for your letter of
9 February 1978 giving us your views on the Crown Agents proposals for the abovementioned issues. It was good of you to write so promptly and I write to say how much we appreciated your helpful comments.
You will be interested to learn that we were able to approve the project in principle in the case of St Helena, Ascension Island and Tristan da Cunha, but not so in the case of the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and British Antarctic Territory. As far as Mauritius is concerned the Crown Agents will have to take their own separate action since in this case an independent Member of the Commonwealth is involved.
As mentioned in Mr Jasper's letter
to Mr Williams of 30 January 1978 the Bank of England's comprehensive renort on Numismatic Coins is still being studied here and we will doubtless be in touch again about this in the near future.
