THE BONN STATEMENT ON AIR HIJACKING

1. The Germans have called a meeting in Bonn on 1/2 August at the level of Directors-General of Civil Aviation of the seven Governments that participated in the Bonn Statement on Air Hijacking (copy attached). Mr Steele, DOT, will lead. FCO will be

represented.

2. I should like to hold a pre-briefing meeting in Room No 1/1 GOGGE at 2.30 pm on Tuesday 25 July to consider the foreign policy implica- tions of the Statement and its implementation.

3.

I should be grateful if addressees or their representatives could attend. I am copying this minute to a number of others in case they also wish to attend or be represented.

I also attach a preliminary list of questions arising out of the Bonn Statement to which we seem to need answers. Some of them can be considered on Tuesday.
