Administered by Governor through Executive and Legislative Councils. Governor is executive and legislative authority for Ascension and legislative authority for Tristan da Cunha. It is in HG's interest to retain possession of St Helena and Ascension Island.

Advanced Ministerial Constitution. independence by 30 June 1976.

Considerations affecting aid policy

Grant aided. No likelihood of economic viability.

TURKS & CAICOS ISLANDS

A State Council (with executive and legislative powers) Constitution. A Ministerial Constitution now under consideration.

A conventional Country Folicy Faper is now in preparation. No requirement for a separate territorial study.

Grant aided and unlikely to become economically viable.
