Thank you for your letter of 26 June. Ir hassingham should indeed claim substitution pay for any appropriate periods. He should claim on form XL62, of which I enclose a small supply; the overnor should countersign the appli- cation.

2. while substituting, ir Massingham will be eligible to claim entertainment allowance at the same rate as r arker's allowance (at present 1,956 p.a.), pro rata. This will be accountable and should be claimed either direct from Overseas Lection, PL, at the end of each period of substitution, or paid locally and charged to the FCC account with the Crown Agents.
