CONTROL OF APPOINTMENTS UNDER COLONIAL REGULATION 19

1. Your telegram number 641 of 9 August seeking authority for several appointments has led us to look again at the despatch of 17 May 1976 setting out the various appointmants designated under CR 19 as being for the approval of the Secretary of State. Changes since 1976 have meant that constitutional” responsibility for some of the posts mentioned therein has been transferred to the New Hebrides Government.

2. We propose therefore to send you a further despatch, cancelling that of 17 May 1976 and substituting the following list of posts:
