11 My Gurkha white ceremonial could not be modified because it was white cotton; we now use a polyester. This was more expensive than the tailoring estimate but hats and cummerbund proved cheaper. Where I did not get the estimate right was for badges and buttons which Hawkes under-estimated becuase they did not realise I wore so much (ie full General + ADC). Also the badges and buttons are different sizes."
