Further to my letter of 17 November, we have today heard from the Governor of Hong Kong that another practising Silk, John Calvert Griffiths, has expressed interest in this job. He has appeared in Hong Kong and is apparently well thought of by the Government.

We should be grateful for your comments on this candidate also, and should be glad to know how you think he compares with the other two.

We have no curriculum vitae from him, but he has an entry in Who's Who.
