You may like to know that during a visit this week John Hobley has arranged with sir Arthur Power (Secretary to the Senate of the Inns of Court and the Bar) for the latter to approach various contacts and associations on the basis of the enclosed job description. The idea is to hold interviews in the week beinning 13 November. Denys Roberts and Hobley will conduct them and I understand that lobley wishes to rope me in as well.
Hobley is not sanguine about finding a good man from the private sector but thinks there may be no alternative.
Copies of this letter and its enclosure go to Wilfred Bourne, Basil Hall and Tony Hetherington for their information, since each has been concerned in some way with this exercise, which in so far as this Office is concerned falls within the scope of Robin McLaren's Department (HKGD).
