Enquiries of the Outward Bag Room reveal that Mr Stewart's letter of 21 February (the circular letter) to Mr Guy was in· the unclassified Bag that left in the St Helena-bound ship from Avonmouth towards the end of March. This broke down in Lisbon and the Bag is still there (!) vessel belaid on to take it and other mail on to St Helena, but no firm date
