1. Mr Hall has spoken to you about the pension position for Governors' widows and has minute to Mr Willby, Pensions Department ODM, (copy attached).

2. I have spoken to Mr Boulter, Superannuation Division CSD, who tells me that action is proceeding. A submission has just gone up to Under Secretaries on the notional salary aspect (about which you wrote to CSD on 23 June (folio 15)). They are awaiting ODM's reply to their letter of 28 June (folio 22) about certain minor changes and have also to ensure that certain consequential amendments to the PSCPS

can be arranged. Mr Boulter hesitates to put a date on final approval of the scheme or of its implementation, but

assures me that this will be soon.
