At the discretion of the Minister any other child may be treated as cligible, provided that:

a. paragraph 4.11.i, ii or ill and paragraph 4.12 are satisfied;

and

b.

the Minister is satisfied that at the time of the Governor's retirement or (if he dies in cervice) death either

the child had been wholly or mainly dependent on the Governor for at least two years or for at least half of his (the child's) life, or

i.

ii.

the Governor had formed the intention of legally adopting the child.

Scale of dependants' bonefits

4.14.2.

The pension under paragraph 4.5 will be an amount which, when added to any pension to which the dependant is entitled from public funds or for which or part of the contributions are payable from public fundo or a pension granted in respect of service in the oversea civil service will provide an income not less than the guaranteed minimum income at the rate provided in the following table. If any pension exceeds the appropriate guaranteed minimum income, no benefits will be payable unier this paragraph.
