Retirement Pension
3.1 Subject to the other provisions of this Scheme, the following: retirement
benefits may be granted under this Scheme:

where the pension is granted to a Governor who immediately before his
appointment as a Governor was employed in the bversea civil service, it shall
be an amount determined in the way described in paragraph 3.2 or paragraph 3.3. whichever is the higher.
D.
where the pension is granted to any other Governor it shall be an amount
determined in the way described in paragraph 3.3.
Subject to paragraphs 2.3 and 3.5 a Governor shall have his pension calculated
as follows:

by taking for every month of his service in the oversca civil service or an
a Governor one six-hundredth of his final salary; and
b. by deducting from the total amount ascertained under the foregoing sub-
paragraph the yearly amount of any pension granted to him in respect of service
in the oversea civil service.
3.3 Where the yearly amount of a Governor's pension falls to be determined under
this paragraph it shall be calculated taking for every month of his service as a
Governor one six-hundredth of his final salary.
3.4 In this section "every month of his service" means each such month including
fractions of a month, expressed to the nearest completed day.
Maximum pension award
3.5 The yearly amount of pension under this Scheme shall not exceed $10,500 or such
greater sum, as the Minister for the Civil Service may from time to time specify.

Subject to paragraph 3.23, where a Governor is in receipt of a pension granted
in respect of service in the oversea civil service or in respect of Crown service
other than service in the oversea elvil service or as a Governor, then:
