revised Governors' Pensions Scheme.
We have, however, taken no action to bring this about and it may be that after consideration you will wish to leave it to be administered separately as at present.·
10 We should like to see the abatement rules in paragraphs 3.10 to 3.11 changed to accord more with your current policy in relation to abatement of pension on re-employment as stated in your letter to West reference P538992 of 30.4.4, ie "that a pension should be abated only when the re-employed service is employment to which the same pension scheme applies and where the re-employed service gives rise to a re-assessment of the original pension awarded under that scheme", At present the abatement rule bites into the pension of several ex-Governors and in at least one instance there is a total abatement of the full Governors' pension.
Along with the revised Scheme I enclose
