(a) one-third of the amount of the Governor's pension under this Scheme, or where part of the pension is commuted under Section 6, one-third of the
remainder of such amount;
(b) the amount which would make the Governor's pension after deduction of
the amount allocated, equal to the annual pension that would be payable
under this Section to the beneficiary on the Governor's death.
In applying the first of these limits, the amount of pension allocated will be taken
to include any such amount already allocated under paragraph 7.1(a) or under The Governor's Pensions (Allocation) Rules, 1959.
7.7 In paragraph 7.6 "the Governor's pension" means the annual amount of his pension under this Scheme before any deduction under paragraph 3.10 (abatement of pension on re-employment).
7.8 If a Governor declares a desire to allocate more of his pension than is allowed by paragraph 7.6, he may be treated as if he had declared a desire to allocate the maximum amount allowed by that paragraph.
7.9 If the whole of a pension under this Scheme is abated by virtue of paragraph 3.10 the reference in paragraph 7.1(a) to the time the pension comes into payment will be taken to be references to the time the pension would have come into payment but for
the abatement.

If a Governor who has made an allocation under paragraph 71 or under The Governor's Pension (Allocation) Rules, 1959 becomes employed in the armed forces of the Crown or otherwise under the Government of the United Kingdom or the Government of any overseas territory, the maximum amount of pension which may be paid under paragraph 3.8 will be reduced by the amount of pension allocated. If the former amount is less than the latter amount, the difference will be deducted from his pay, with this deduction being ignored in the calculation of any revised pension award.
7.11 A re-employed Governor who has made an allocation under paragraph 7.1(a) or under The Governor's Pension (Allocation) Rules, 1959 may not make a further allocation under paragraph 7.1(a) on his final retirement.

7.12 If a Governor is within six months of the date on which a pension under this Scheme is likely to come into payment, the Minister will notify him, where
